Unite against Cancer: A Prosure Fest
To highlight the importance of nutrition and a holistic approach in the fight against cancer, Abbott Philippines launched its advocacy—Unite against Cancer: a Prosure Fest.
Now on its second year, featuring the theme, “Eat, Pray, Live”, the health caravan has concluded its tours in major hospitals in the country to support various cancer groups: Can Share support group at the Benavides Cancer Institute in the University of Santo Tomas Hospital last August 24; MMC Cancer Center in Makati Medical Center (MMC) last September 25; Cebu Doctors' University Hospital, Chong Hua Hospital, and the Cebu Cancer Institute in Perpetual Succour Hospital in Cebu City last October 13 (Cancer support groups: KAHAYAG; RAFI - Eduardo J. Aboitiz Cancer Center; Cebu Cancer Fight, Inc.; and Thyca Fighters); and support group Corridor of Hope at St. Luke's Cancer Institute in St. Luke's Medical Center, Quezon City last October 27. Created by the united front of Abbott, cancer patients, caregivers, support groups, and cancer centers and their staff and affiliated doctors, the Prosure Fest Caravan 2012 was a gathering of cancer patients in celebration of life despite their illness. Patients, friends and families learned more about the best management of their health state through lay forums by experts in proper cancer care and nutrition; free nutrition counseling; laughter yoga; and opportunities to learn pleasurable and profitable activities.
